Mary Lea CarrollMary Lea Carroll is the author of Across the Street, Around the Corner: A Road Home. Her previous books include Saint Everywhere: Travels in Search of the Lady Saints (a People Magazine Pick) and Somehow Saints: More Travels in Search of the Saintly. Before marriage and family life, Mary Lea Carroll was a travel guide, part-time journalist, and writer’s assistant at Paramount Studios.
When her children were young, she taught children’s creative writing from her kitchen table and assisted her husband in his motion picture advertising business. She is a gifted storyteller and a Moth Story Slam winner. Writing and storytelling combine many of her interests, some of which are: travel, comedy, art appreciation, family, and community life. Mary Lea Carroll graduated from San Francisco State University and has been married to Bill Carroll for 37 years. They have three daughters and two grandchildren.
